MARQUIS MANAGEMENT: FOUNDER THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Founder Strategy, Content Planning, Ghostwriting
The work I did with Kyla began with a structured discovery framework that helps founders clarify audience, positioning, voice, and strategy. With that out of the way, we were able to produce content that offered a crystal clear voice and POV.
Product Placements Can Look Great On Paper, But Fall Apart When Rubber Hits The Road.
Take Peloton’s feature in last year’s buzzy Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That…
On paper, I’m sure it was perfect: one of television’s most iconic characters astride one of the most recognizable fitness products in the world, in the show’s premier episode.
Until Big clutches his chest and drops dead (while still on the bike, no less).
Obviously, the internet had a field day.
“Peloton Will Kill You” memes abounded. Stock plunged. And Peloton had to scramble out a damage control campaign to remind people that indoor bikes are actually good for you.
The moral of the story: For any fitness brand, a PR nightmare is always lurking around the corner. Having the right team in yours is a great first step.
Let’s talk.
Good PR Means Going For Gold—Especially When That Takes You Beyond The Usual Playbook.
Blazepod came to us with an idea for an influencer collaboration with rising female soccer star, Zećira Mušović.
I hate to admit that I was nonplussed.
But in the world of sports PR, size matters. The men’s side of the industry dominates influencer partnerships through bigger audiences, bigger contracts, and bigger media interest.
I felt lukewarm about committing resources to an influencer partnership that couldn’t promise great exposure for my client.
Performance, personality, authenticity—she has everything that women’s sports are about, and that “go get ’em” attitude that every fitness and wellness brand should be looking out for in a sports influencer.
Here was my first impression of this rising Chelsea FC star:
The girl’s got grit. Being a goalkeeper at Chelsea FC isn’t for the faint of heart. Watch any clip of her playing the game and you can’t help but be wowed.
She has great energy. On and off the field, Mušović is natural, positive, and authentic.
Consistency. Some athletes have to manufacture their image and you can feel the inauthenticity from a mile away. Mušović is the real deal, through and through.
Fighting Spirit. Women’s soccer is pulling no punches these days. Players like Mušović are elevating the sport to another level entirely — and it’s great to see the game and these players get the attention and investment they truly deserve.
So obviously we went for it. I reached out to key industry partners in women’s sports, landing a feature that put Blazepod directly in front of fans, fitness enthusiasts, and athletes—a top-tier athlete training with a product she actually knows and loves.
That's actually the hat trick we're known for at Marquis. In a world of performative wellness, poorly-matched product pushes, and overhyped gimmicks, we deliver communications strategies for fitness and wellness brands that are natural, authentic, and relatable.
And it works. Click here to see Blazepod’s placement in Skynews.
And remember, kids—good PR isn’t about playing it safe. It’s about going for gold—when that takes you beyond the usual playbook.
